Update:
November 25, 2013, I received a wonderful thank you note from the customer. These thank you notes are always very, very meaningful. The customer gave us permission to share their thank you note.
I don’t often share projects. That is going to (hopefully) change. This watch is a beauty that was quite challenging. It is an Elgin 573 that came in with a very mangled hairspring. When the balance was removed, the hairspring had a cone of about 4 to 5 inches.
The watch is running very well now, with an excellent amplitude, excellent timing in all positions, plus the best thing of all: it’s nice and pretty.
I tested this for a good amount of time before I sent it back to the customer.
